Today, Bud and I were reminiscing about our anniversaries of years past. We have been lucky enough to have spent our anniversary in some pretty cool places: on the Long Trail in Vermont, at a resort with my Dad in New Mexico, recovering from our first hike of the Grand Canyon in Sedona, in Bud’s home town in Corvallis, OR. But this, our 12th, wedding anniversary was extra special. We took our family of four (I can’t get enough of that phrase- “family of four”!!) on Elle’s first hike. Although she slept through her first hike (she wasn’t as excited as we were, apparently), River stretched his hiker legs venturing bravely down the trail ahead of us, finding interesting sticks along the way, and then enjoying a well-deserved post-hike fruit pouch. Although we’ve spent our past anniversaries in some beautiful far-off places, we just celebrated one of our best just ten minutes up the road from our apartment.
