Monadnock Sunapee Hike
June 2020
In June of 2020, Bud and I planned to thru hike the 50 mile Monadnock Sunapee Greenway trail. The trail runs through southern New Hampshire. My dad started the trail with us by hiking Mount Monadnock, and he and Odile planned to hike to meet us at the end on Mount Sunapee.
Unfortunately, we had to cut our hike short. Because of Covid restrictions, we purchased our water filtration system- our usual Sawyer Squeezes- from Amazon, and we received counterfeit water filters. Not only were our water filters not filtering our water, but they made our water taste bitter like a Sharpie marker. There was no way to continue our hike without water filters, and my dad kindly agreed to come and bail us out after about half the trail, and one night, completed.
