Winter is slowly melting its way into spring, and with this change, we are slowly seeing our new toddler emerge from our baby. River is learning how to communicate more every day. Just a couple weeks ago, he surprised us when, immediately upon waking in the morning, he walked to the stove, pointed, and asked, “Dada, eggs?”
Several times a day, he will realize his beloved teddy, Agoo, is not by his side, and he will call out, “Doo! Doo!” When he wants to dance, he will point to the computer and bounce up and down. When he wants Bud to dance with him, he will make the dog sounds from the Fraggle Rock song and hold his arms up to Bud and they will dance and sing to Fraggle Rock. He has so much energy, but is still our affectionate little cuddle bug. He just can’t sit still to cuddle quite as long as he used to. We are looking forward to seeing what the next few months bring for our toddler, at which point, he will not longer be the baby of the family, but the big brother of baby Eleanor!
